They got married at a lovely little church in Leatherhead, Surrey. Esther wore a beautiful long, white dress and her bridesmaids wore pink. Peter is English and Ester is from the Czech Republic and it was great to see a real mix of people and cultures there.
Working together we were able to photography the wedding ceremony from very different angles. I was positioned at the front to the side so I could get all the close-ups and details and Jon was high up on the balcony at the back. He got some great wide shots of the interior and closer ones of the guests coming and going.
Luckily, the weather held out and there wasn’t a drop of rain the whole day. This meant that we could also get a lot of documentary wedding photography shots which is our main aim for each wedding. We got some great relaxed shots of people having fun, kids playing and generally everyone having a great time.
The great hall was beautifully set out for the wedding breakfast. After the meal and the speeches we set out to photograph the formal group shots that the couple wanted. We were spoilt for locations so we did some at the back of the castle in the gardens and some at the front against the backdrop of the main entrance hall. It was a pretty windy day. In fact, as we were taking photographs, the wind blew Ester’s veil right off and sent it right onto the roof of the castle! Luckily, someone managed to retrieve it.
All in all, it was a fantastic day that went off without a hitch. We are very pleased that both Ester and Peter absolutely loved the photos (see her testimonial) and are recommending us to everyone they can think of!
