All of the guests were now assembled in the church except for a few eager youngsters straining to see the arrival of the bride. Milissa soon arrived in a gleaming, red Mercedes, lighting up the leafy, country lane. Once she had said hello to the small collection of excited kids she made her way into the back of the church. I ran ahead and positioned myself near to the altar.
The warm afternoon light streamed through the tall windows of the beautiful Norfolk church as Milissa was led down the aisle by her proud dad. This really was a big, family wedding! Everyone from young and old were there.
The ceremony went to perfection and as the newly-weds emerged from the church into the warm sun, they greeted by a shower of confetti and smiles. Myself and Jon busied ourselves capturing everything as it unfolded.
When it was time, we both shot off on the drive to Roundwood Function and Conference Centre to be ready for Alex and Milissa’s arrival.
The kids instantly made a bee-line for the bouncy castle. In fact, it provided endless entertainment for the rest of the day and it made for some brilliant action shots!
Jon and I also made sure we photographed all of the details of the meticulously dressed wedding supper room. As it was still warm, most people stayed outside to enjoy their welcome drinks in the sun. And of course, to keep an eye on the kids as they wreaked havoc on the bouncy castle!
The wedding supper was a massive barbecue which provided enough burgers and bangers to feed an army. While people were not eating they could enjoy the photo booth complete with a big box full of silly hats and wigs! (The bouncy castle, at this point, was taking a long, deserved rest).
Bellies full, everyone sat back to enjoy the speeches. As myself and Jon normally work – I positioned myself close to the top table while Jon was
further back with a wide lens to capture those close-ups.
The couple cut the cake soon after then straight away, took to the floor for the first dance. Everyone then streamed onto the floor to join in the action! As it was a long, warm, summer’s day, the guests enjoyed the remainder of the evening, sipping their drinks outside. The kids were not so sedate. It was, of course, round two on the bouncy castle….
